Roy Dunbar, CEO of Network Solutions

Roy joined Network Solutions as Chief Executive Officer in February 2008. As CEO, he provides overall strategic direction for the company and its 1,000+ employees, who are focused on helping small businesses establish an online presence and market their products and services through the Internet.

Previously, Roy was President, Global Technology and Operations, for MasterCard Worldwide. In this role, he oversaw MasterCard Worldwide’s strategic processing platform, global network and quality of operations. Based at the Global Technology and Operations headquarters in St. Louis, MO, Roy also served as a member of the company’s Executive Committee. During his tenure, he drew upon his experience in technology, sales, marketing, product development, and general management to further leverage MasterCard technology and processing capabilities for customers around the world.

Anita Campbell is CEO of Small Business Trends ( an online community touching over 250,000 small business owners each month. Lost Boys is the brainchild of 28-year old fashion maven, Kelly Muccio. After working for one of DC’s premier private equity companies, Kelly quit her job and moved to New York to pursue her love of fashion. She quickly rose through the ranks of the fashion industry and has gained extensive bi-coastal experience working for major fashion houses, nationally launching designer collections, re-branding start-up couture collections, and expanding high-end boutiques in New York and Los Angeles. Kelly returned to DC and brought exclusive collections and fashion expertise with her. She wanted to offer men a place to find their individual style, so she found a renovated historic row house in Georgetown and opened Lost Boys.


Surfy Rahman, Co-owner of Indique, a popular DC-area restaurant chain

Co-owner of Indique Heights, Indique and the Bombay Bistro, Surfy Rahman and his business partner, Chef K. Vinod, have spent almost two decades introducing DC diners to quality Indian cuisine.

A graduate of the School of Hotel Management in Kolkata, India, Rahman has worked in some of India’s premium hotel chains like the ITDC and the Taj Group of Hotels. From serving thousands of people during the Asian Games to taking care of countless heads of states during the Non-Alligned Meet and Commonwealth Heads of Government Meet, Rahman brings a formidable set of management skills to his restaurants in the DC metro area. The Challenges:

Finance: The single biggest competitive disadvantage of U.S. entrepreneurs is meeting capital needs to grow their businesses. To become more competitive, small business owners desperately need access to capital to invest for long-term growth, as well as the know-how to identify capital resources for funding day-to-day operations.

Marketing: Entrepreneurs struggle to come up with new ideas and innovations to grow their businesses, which is surprising given that U.S. small businesses are known for their ingenuity. They also have problems getting and converting leads, positioning their companies as big players, and finding ways to get the word out about their businesses.
